The Church of Love, Faith and Truth
Rev. Ron D. Coleman, Sr., was founder and senior minister of God Land Unity Church. He led a life dominated by love and compassion and taught his congregation to practice heaven on earth through prayer. He frequently expressed his belief that the kingdom of God is experienced as a state of consciousness in which the soul and body are in harmony with Divine Mind.
Rev. Coleman answered his call to ministry and enrolled in the Unity Urban Ministerial School, studying and working at both the Detroit and Lees Summit, Missouri, campuses. Rev. Coleman was ordained in 1983. At that time, he fellowshipped at West Side Unity Church under the leadership of Rev. Ruth M. Mosley.

Following ordination, Rev. Coleman traveled to the Champaign-Urbana area of Illinois where he developed a Unity study group. God honored his efforts and increased the small group of nine to a dynamic ministry of 150. Upon completing six years there, Rev. Coleman was called to lead the Unity Church of Truth in Houston.
Rev. Coleman was dedicated to the Unity Church. His service includes: past-President, Urban Ministerial School; past-President and past-Vice President of Unity Urban Alumni Association; past-Chairman, Joint Curriculum Committee; past-member, Admissions Board and past-President of the Great Lakes Unity Retreat Conference.
In 1994, Rev. Coleman organized God Land Unity Villagers, a support group for children ages 7 to 18. He possessed a passion for children and endeavored to enhance their lives with the word of God and plenty of love. He once said, "There are no throwaway children! What today's youth need most are role models who truly love and care for them ..."
The next year, God Land Unity Church was incorporated with 39 members. In 1997, God Land purchased its current location at 22450 Schoolcraft, which it now owns - debt free. The current congregation holds fast to the foundation that Rev. Coleman has laid.
